There is no greater blessing to me in my business then when a friend trusts me to capture her child’s newborn images. I was even able to go down to the hospital and take some Fresh48 photos as well. There is just something so precious about a newborn baby. I just love my job so much and being able to spend even a few moments with these tiny humans brings me so much joy.
Fresh 48s
Going down to the hospital is not something I do very often but I sure do love it. Mamas are usually still pretty tired and rightfully so since they just delivered a human. LOL Babies are still sleeping and eating 95% of the time and wearing their name bracelets and their baby lojacks. These fleeting little moments are something that goes quick and you don’t get again. And as a mom who has had a couple of babies it is kind of a blur those first couple of days in the hospital.
Creating a Set
So since this session was so close to Christmas, I decided I wanted to make some sort of special holiday background. I had these gorgeous sticks with frosted cranberries on them. They were pretty long though. Once I got them all arranged I realized I had to get on a ladder to photograph the whole thing. It was definitely not something I wanted to do with a baby beneath me so I decided to photograph the set before the session without baby and composite her in later. Safety first!!
Session Day
This session was just so special to me. Not only did I get to hang out with my amazing friend but her new baby too. I think I may claim “auntie” here. Baby M was just a dream and we got so many good ones. I have a hard time not oversharing. And my new set up…worked perfectly. Check it out and a few more of my favorites from our session.
