Infant photography is something is near and dear to my heart. I love it and have the best job in the world. I really feel such joy getting up and being able to do this every single day. There is just something amazing and beautiful about a newborn baby. The newness, smallness and just overall delicate-ness (is that a word?) of each little baby is truly one of life’s little miracles.
When Clients become Friends
I have known this mama for a couple of years and have been capturing their special moments since she was pregnant with her first child. She is a gorgeous mama and has a beautiful family. Getting to know her husband and extended family has been such a treat. It is pretty amazing when you just have those special clients that keep coming back and start feeling more like friends than clients. Melissa always has some great ideas to incorporate into her sessions while allowing me to play and be creative. I feel like it is a great mix. We have done some amazing maternity images as well as newborn and milestone images. You can see Melissa’s maternity session HERE.
When Melisa and I had her pre-session consultation for her newborn session she had a few things that she really want to try and incorporate into her session. She wanted to use her wedding veil which I loved the idea of as well as some naked pictures and a unique ad new prop that I had in the studio. Planning her session was almost as fun and doing the session. Well, almost. LOL
Session Day
Now newborn sessions are so much fun but they are definitely work. Newborn babies do not pose themselves, unfortunately, or smile on demand, as much as I try to tell them….they just don’t listen. HAHA It’s a good work and I enjoy it. Patience and calmness is always a requirement and needed for every session I have done over the years. This one was no different. Miss E came to see me when she was 9 days new. That is such a great time to get in for pictures as they still like to sleep all day long. Well most of the time anyways. Miss E had some other plans. She decided she did not want to miss a thing. But I usually win and I did this time too. We were really able to get some great pictures and I loved being able to use some of her mama’s ideas and even grab a picture with big brother.
It’s never too early to book your newborn session. Contact me HERE to get your due date on my calendar.
