One of my favorite things is when clients come back to me time and again to capture their family’s journey. Melissa and her family have been coming to me for a couple of years and I am so blessed not only that she is my client but that is is my friend. She is kind and funny and I just enjoy every session we have had together. I had the privilege of capturing her maternity images when she was pregnant with her first little boy and then all of his milestones. Now I get to do it again for his baby sister.
Session Time
Melissa’s sessions are always so much fun. She had some great ideas of things she would like to try and do during our session. This time around she really wanted to capture some maternity pictures that included her son, which I was happy to do. He’s a great kid! I love the fact that Melissa is so willing to try new poses and really put herself out there. She is stunningly beautiful and really just personifies the beauty of impending motherhood. We took our time and got so many great pictures. I may have had her model a bunch of my dresses too and she looked good in every single one. Some of my favorite images from our session are ones that were new to me and I loved it. I love being able to try new things and really grow as a photographer.
Being a maternity photographer is amazing. When I first started on this journey almost four years ago I knew that I wanted to photograph newborns but I found that I have a real passion for capturing those pregnancy pictures. I wish I had done them when I was pregnant. But I guess I will just live vicariously through my clients.
Booking a Session
Typically I book maternity sessions when mama is about 30 to 35 weeks pregnant. Doesn’t have to be during that time frame but usually it is best because mama’s belly is nice and round but not so close to her due date that we risk baby coming first. It has happened. 🙂
It’s never too early to book your maternity session.
