This week I decided to share a blog post I read that really resonates with me. As many of you know, I am passionate about motherhood. I have 4 kids but that is not what I mean. Don’t get me wrong…I LOVE being a mom and all that goes with that. But I mean as women, sisters and friends etc. The community and strength you get from that community.
Momming is Hard
Being a mom is hard. We are made to feel like we need to do it all, to know it all and be that “Pinterest mom” that is all over the web. Let me just say I am not the Pinterest Mom. I try but fail miserably most days. Just this morning I was sewing (try not to faint….yes, sewing) a patch on a vest for my daughter that she earned last night at church. I stabbed myself TWICE in the finger and may have “spoken harshly” at the patch….just a bit. Oh and I let her wear her pajamas with mismatching shoes to the store the other day because well….I decided not to pick this battle. Yes, that is me.
Find a Tribe
As women we tend to take on a lot. I do not know if it is human nature or society but we do. It’s nice to have someone or multiple someones to turn to for advice or when things get rough. And they will. This blog from Fit4Mom was really great because it talks about turning to other moms to help get through “those” times. I know that my mom is amazing and I could not do any of this without her.
While my mom is my main person for advice it’s nice to have a group of friends and other mamas to talk to when I need it. I truly believe that when women, mothers come to together and support one another and lift each other up, it’s empowering and I LOVE that. We weren’t meant to walk this walk alone.
