So I have a really good friend that came in to work one day and told me her daughter-in-law was pregnant with her first grand baby. She was so excited about this and she has just blessed me in a million ways by what she does for others and our friendship. I had been looking for an expectant mama to come in for a progression series for maternity. I had not done one in forever and really wanted to update the images.
So my maternity progression sessions are a series of session equal distance apart to showcase belly growth. All of the sessions except the last one are only one dress and really short Maybe thirty minutes at the most and just a few poses that will be repeated at the next session. The final maternity session is a full 60-90 minute session with a couple different outfit changes etc.
Meeting the Parents
There are times when I meet really young parents and I always wonder if they are truly ready to be parents. This was a very young newly married couple and I have to say the love they have for each other is pretty awesome. What a fun and sweet mama to be. The more we chatted the more I knew she was going to be an amazing mama. I was so excited to be doing this session for them.
Maternity Session Time
The dress I had picked out for her was perfect and looked so good on her. And she loved it. We did our mini sessions and then had a full session at the end. She brought her husband the last time and by then I had some real time getting to know them. I was so excited for this next chapter in their lives. (And maybe a bit jealous they won’t be 100 when their kids go off to college. LOL)
A Newborn Session
We ended this progression series with a newborn session for her little guy. And man was he just as sweet as can be. Looked just like a little man and had the most soul searching eyes I have seen in a while. And he was so good for this session too. What a pleasure and joy it has been getting to know this amazing couple and little guy. Check out some of my favorites from our time together.

I absolutely love seeing both maternity and newborn in one blog post – such a touching before and after. And I love being able to see the woman as a new mom and seeing who baby looks more like! Beautiful work!
I love maternity and newborn together as well. And I love it when mamas book these sessions. They are just so much fun for me.
