There are just some clients who come to you that really make an impact. This gal was one of those clients. Summer is kind and funny and beautiful. Not only that but she is adventurous and had some great ideas for her session. Summer really wanted to showcase some of her Native American heritage not only in her maternity session but in her newborn session to come. She has a love for nature and all things earthy colored and I loved it. She is a gal after my own heart. Native American culture has always been an interest of mine as my great-grandmother is a full blooded American Indian from the New England area. I was super excited for our session.
An Afternoon at the Park
Maternity photography sessions outdoors are some of my favorites. I have a local park that I absolutely love. It has hills and trees and so many different areas for backgrounds and textures and colors. I rarely go anywhere else unless I am looking for something specific. I knew this park would be perfect for Summer and what she is looking for and she agreed. The weather turned out to be pretty great too considering it had been so cold and dreary all spring.
I brought a couple of my gowns but she some really unique and great outfits that she brought as well. Her first outfit was just so gorgeous and flowy and really fit the landscape so much. I think it was my favorite of the day. She also brought her daughter who is just completely adorable. I was so happy and honored to be able to capture the two of them together at this special time in her life. As our session continued I just loved her spirit and could see the love for her unborn baby in all her images. We trekked through the grass and maybe a bit of mud and really had fun during our session.
A Blessing
Getting to know Summer and having her tell me a little of her story really touched my heart. She has such a special and loving family and I was really looking forward to meeting her new baby and the rest of them. I was so blessed that she chose me to be a part of her family’s journey. Capturing such special moments really is why I do what I do.
