As a senior photographer, I have a soft spot for teens. Sometimes I feel like teens are underestimated or given the short end of the stick so to speak because they are young. But teens are amazing! They are unique and fun and watching them navigate this crazy society we live in is pretty cool. Not to mention, they are still growing and learning their place in the world.
Sometimes a session comes along that leaves a bit more of an impact. This was one of those sessions. Molly is a senior at a local high school near my house and she is also part of my small senior team. I LOVED getting to know her.
Session Day
When getting ready for our session, Molly expressed that she loved downtown Fort Worth and would love to do an urban session. These types of sessions are so much fun. Cities have so much personality and I love walking around and finding cool places to shoot. We decided to have our sessions down near Sundance Square. I hadn’t been there before and it did not disappoint.
Upon meeting Molly, I could tell she was a little bit uneasy in front of the camera. She started telling me about the session she had prior and how the photographer made her feel awkward and uncomfortable. This breaks my heart. No one should ever be made to feel that way. I knew in my heart I wanted to just make this experience so much better for her.
Final Thoughts
As we walked around and chatted, I could feel her relaxing and having fun. We explored the area and I got to listen to her stories. Every time Molly smiled I was reminded of just how truly beautiful she really is. Inside and out. I was honored to be her photographer and capture this amazing time in her life. I had so many favorites from our session. Take a peek… Oh and you may recognize her as one of my winners for the magazine submission for Senior Year magazine!!
I am currently booking Seniors Class of 2024 but if you still need senior pictures for this year’s graduating class, I’d love to chat and get you on the books. You can reach me HERE to get started.
