Some of my favorite types of photography sessions are cake smash sessions for children turning ONE! I love them, I really do. They are fun and messy and just such a special milestone in a baby’s life. A baby changes so much in that first year. Heck, they change so much just in the first 8 weeks. Not only are the changes physical but they grow so much in brain power and ability. I love capturing all these milestones as they grow. Changes from not being able to hold up their own heads to being able to run around and play. (Unless of course you are my third child who didn’t walk until he was 16 months but that is a whole other story.)
A Special Session
Sweet A came to me to celebrate her first birthday with some pictures and a cake smash to finish it off. Her sweet auntie got her mama a gift certificate for her session and I thought that was pretty special. When little Miss A arrived I just could not believe how completely adorable she was. She had the best smile and was just a happy child. She loves her Minnie Mouse and was so content just to sit for some pictures and was such a joy to have in the studio. Her mama told me that she brought a banner with progression pictures from her first year and I could not have been happier. It was probably one of the best banners I have seen. I may just have to borrow her idea for a future creation!
Not All Babies Like Cake!
I can never understand when a baby hates the cake. Cake is my favorite. I could eat cake every single day. But it has been known to happen from time to time. I am happy to say that Miss A was not one of those kids. She loved her cake and I can’t blame her there, it looked so yummy. If it wasn’t all over the floor I might have eaten some. Kidding.
